About.
I am a psychotherapist and a member of the Australian Centre for Psychoanalysis. I also hold the accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW).
My clinical practice is defined by the principles of psychoanalysis, following the orientation developed by Jacques Lacan. It provides comprehensive treatment options for children, adolescents and adults seeking to address problems of life, mental health difficulties, and behaviours of concern.
In addition to my private practice, I also work at The Royal Children’s Hospital, where I provide psychological care for children and adolescents who deal with complex psychological needs. Over the past decade, my career has also involved working in acute adult mental health at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, community mental health programs, substance dependence services, LGBTIQA+ health support programs and sexual assault services.
I have extensive experience working with individuals affected by the aftermath of childhood trauma. These concerns can reveal themselves through emotional instability, obsessive thought patterns, difficulties in cultivating trust and intimacy, and sexualised behaviours.
My educational background includes a Master of Social Work from Monash University in Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from CEU University in Spain. In addition to specialised training in Trauma-focused therapy and interpersonal therapy, I completed foundational studies in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I am currently undertaking further theoretical & clinical studies in psychoanalysis at the Australian Centre for Psychoanalysis.
My former career includes publication and editing in the areas of visual arts, culture, and media, demonstrating my curiosity about the relationships that exist between individual experiences and cultural representation.
I am currently accepting new patients for psychoanalysis and psychotherapy.
Medicare rebates are available. Sliding scale fees can be offered to individuals who are seeking to engage in psychoanalytic treatment and are facing financial difficulties.
